Laveen is an urban village located within the city of Phoenix, eight miles southwest of downtown Phoenix in Maricopa County, Arizona. The area covered by the city is 48 sq. miles. The city comprises of 93,644 inhabitants. Male percentage of the population is 48.9$ and females comprise 51.1%. The median resident age is 28.1 years. 60% speak English, 26% Spanish, 5% Asian and 4% speak other languages.

Laveen supports two golf courses: the former Bougainvillea Golf Club (formerly private) which became a public course in October 2012 and now known as Southern Ridge Golf Club, and the Aguila Golf Course (public).
