Anthem is situated in Maricopa County, Arizona in the territory of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.
Anthem was established by Del Webb on the land with 5,856 acres at the foot of Daisy Mountain and Gavilan Peak. Del Webb was a known American founder of retirement community of Arizona. He set up Dell E Webb Construction Company, which mainly created projects for developing areas for people of retirement age. With great support and cooperation of other real estate developers, Dell Webb built over 12000 homes in Anthem.
Later Anthem was acknowledged by Phoenix Magazine to be one of the best family places in the Phoenix region.
